Anand Milk Union Limited, also known as Amul, is an Indian cooperative society with headquarters in Anand, Gujarat. The business was founded with the intention of helping farmers, and through that process, it became one of the most well-known companies in India.

In 1946, Amul was founded as both a brand and a movement. A campaign that gave Gujarati farmers the confidence to dream, hopes, and live. It was established in order to put an end to the abuse carried out by the “Pestonjee Edulji” middlemen who marketed Polson butter.

Amul played a significant role in Dr. Verghese Kurein’s transformation of India from a milk-deficient nation to the world’s greatest producer of milk today. Dr. Kurein is referred to as the “Milkman of India.”

Amul uses a low price point for products that are used frequently. Amul’s pricing approach makes it cheap for its intended market. They were able to keep their client base by raising prices in line with increases in their audience’s income.

The marketing mascot for the Indian dairy company Amul is known as the “Amul Girl.” The Amul girl is a hand-drawn cartoon of a young Indian girl with blue hair and a half pony pulled up, wearing a polka-dotted outfit.
